I love color don’t you? The thing I love about color is the way it makes me feel. I’m not talking about touching fabric although I love that too. Here’s an example of what I mean. Lots of color usually makes me happy.
Whenever I go to a quilt show I get vibrations from the quilts I see. There is so much to absorb from color to style to workmanship. Some vibes are happy vibes, exhausted vibes, frustrated vibes or sad vibes. It’s almost overwhelming.
At shows, I love to look at antique quilts as well. I get more of the same, but antique quilts are usually calmer and more soothing to me. Many of those quilts are from the Great Depression, so why wouldn’t I get bad vibes from that particular era?
I want all my quilts to have good vibes and one quilt in particular is a happy quilt. Its name is “Celebration.” This is the quilt my family members get to sleep under when there is a happy occasion like a birthday, an award, a good grade, new job, promotion, raise, reward…
