I don’t have other hobbies because…because I quilt. It is what I do. I don’t cross stitch. I don’t knit. I don’t do scrap booking.
I used to cross stitch but I found it was too confining. Use this cloth, use these colors, and use this stitch. Do this, do this and this. It’s so bossy. Cross stitching is almost mean. I find quilting is nicer with more leeway and more freedom.
I don’t knit because I wouldn’t have storage space for all the inevitable purchases. I have a closet full of fabric already, but I’m not complaining about that. Have you been to a yarn shop lately? The colors are like eye candy. I wouldn’t be able to resist all the beautiful yarns. If a scarf or hand bag looks good in red, then I’d love to explore all the color opportunities and have purple, blue and green ones too. Where in the world would I put all the yarn? Would I or could I consider renting a storage locker? It’s just easier not to go there.
I don’t do scrap booking either. Not because I don’t like scrap booking. The supplies are tempting, but I can only afford one expensive hobby, well two if you count golf.
That reminds me, I can always use new golf balls—pink ones. My daughter will be so relieved. Merry Christmas to me!
End of story,
