These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of scribblerdesigns.com (the “Website”), operated by Scribbler Designs and Chris Barnard (“Scribbler Designs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms apply to your use of the Website and, where applicable, purchases of quilt patterns, classes, workshops, digital materials, educational resources, and other products or services offered through the Website.
By accessing the Website, purchasing a product or class, subscribing to communications, or otherwise interacting with Scribbler Designs, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the Website.
1. About Scribbler Designs
Scribbler Designs is a quilting and educational business operated by quilt designer, pattern writer, instructor, and quilter Chris Barnard, also known as “The Scribbler.”
The Website may provide:
quilt patterns;
digital instructional materials;
online quilting classes and workshops;
quilting tutorials and educational resources;
photographs of quilts and other projects;
blog articles;
recommendations and quilting information;
testimonials;
newsletter subscriptions; and
other quilting-related products and content.
Products, services, pricing, classes, availability, and Website features may change from time to time.
2. Educational Purpose
Quilting instructions, blog posts, classes, patterns, tutorials, recommendations, and other instructional materials are provided for educational and informational purposes.
Sewing and quilting involve tools and equipment that can cause injury if improperly used, including sewing machines, rotary cutters, scissors, irons, needles, pins, rulers, and other equipment.
You are responsible for:
using equipment according to manufacturer instructions;
maintaining a reasonably safe workspace;
selecting appropriate materials and tools;
exercising reasonable care when cutting, pressing, sewing, and assembling projects; and
determining whether an activity is appropriate for your experience and abilities.
Scribbler Designs is not responsible for injuries resulting from misuse of equipment, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, or unsafe sewing or quilting practices.
3. Individual Results
Patterns, classes, photographs, samples, and instructional materials may demonstrate particular finished projects or techniques.
Results vary based on factors including:
Scribbler Designs does not guarantee that every user will achieve a finished project identical to photographs or samples shown on the Website.
4. Quilt Patterns and Digital Products
The Website sells quilt patterns and may offer other downloadable or digitally delivered materials.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing a pattern or digital resource gives the purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that material for personal quilting and sewing purposes.
Purchasing a pattern does not transfer copyright or ownership of the pattern, instructions, photographs, graphics, diagrams, or other intellectual property.
You may not, without prior written permission:
reproduce the pattern for distribution;
email or otherwise provide the pattern to another person;
upload the pattern to a website, social network, file-sharing service, online group, or digital repository;
resell or redistribute digital copies;
use the pattern or instructional material to teach a paid class;
reproduce substantial portions of the instructions in another publication or product; or
represent the pattern or instructional content as your own.
Each individual who wishes to use a pattern should purchase their own copy.
Nothing in these Terms restricts rights otherwise provided by applicable copyright law.
5. Quilts Made From Scribbler Designs Patterns
Unless a particular pattern states otherwise, purchasers may make quilts from legitimately purchased Scribbler Designs patterns for personal use, gifts, exhibitions, charitable purposes, or limited small-scale sale of personally handmade finished quilts.
You may not mass-produce or commercially manufacture products using Scribbler Designs patterns without written permission.
When publicly displaying, publishing, or offering a quilt made from a Scribbler Designs pattern for sale, attribution to Scribbler Designs and the applicable pattern is appreciated and may be required where stated in the applicable pattern.
6. Classes and Workshops
Scribbler Designs may offer online or other quilting classes and workshops.
Registration is for the individual who purchased the class unless otherwise expressly stated.
Class materials, instructions, handouts, recordings, access links, photographs, patterns, or other resources provided to participants are for the registered participant’s personal use and may not be copied or distributed to others without permission.
Class access may be provided using third-party platforms such as Zoom, Facebook, or another online service.
Participants are responsible for having:
a compatible device;
adequate internet access;
any required software;
the tools and materials identified for the class; and
any other equipment necessary to participate.
Technical difficulties relating to a participant’s own internet connection, device, software, microphone, camera, or other equipment are generally outside Scribbler Designs’ control.
7. Class Cancellations and Refunds
Certain classes may provide participants with access to workshop materials immediately or shortly after payment.
Where a class or product page states that a purchase is non-refundable or cannot be rescheduled, that policy is incorporated into these Terms.
The Website currently states for certain online workshops that students receive access to workshop materials upon payment and that no rescheduling or refunds are permitted for those purchases.
Any cancellation, refund, rescheduling, or transfer policy displayed at the time of purchase will control for the applicable class.
Nothing in this section limits refund rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
8. Digital Product Refunds
Because digital products may be delivered or made accessible immediately after purchase, digital patterns and downloadable products are generally not eligible for return or refund after delivery or access unless:
the file is defective;
the wrong product was supplied;
Scribbler Designs expressly agrees otherwise; or
a refund is required by applicable law.
If you experience a technical problem accessing a purchased digital product, contact Scribbler Designs so reasonable efforts can be made to resolve the issue.
9. Pricing and Product Information
Scribbler Designs makes reasonable efforts to accurately display product descriptions, prices, class information, photographs, and availability.
However, errors may occasionally occur.
Scribbler Designs may correct typographical, pricing, technical, or other errors and may modify or discontinue products or services.
If a material pricing or product error affects an order before fulfillment, Scribbler Designs may cancel the affected order and issue an applicable refund.
10. Payments
Purchases may be processed through Squarespace Commerce, PayPal, or other payment providers.
Third-party payment providers process payment information according to their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and fraud-prevention procedures.
Scribbler Designs generally does not directly receive complete payment-card credentials where those credentials are processed by a third-party payment provider.
You are responsible for providing accurate payment and billing information.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Website and original Scribbler Designs content are owned by or licensed to Scribbler Designs and Chris Barnard.

These materials may be protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

Third-party patterns, fabrics, trademarks, and intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Blog and Opinion Content
The Scribbler Designs blog includes personal observations, experiences, educational information, opinions, recommendations, and commentary concerning quilting and related subjects.

14. Product and Tool Recommendations
The Website may mention or link to quilting tools, rulers, patterns, fabric, sewing machines, books, products, instructors, retailers, or other third-party resources.
A reference or recommendation does not guarantee that a particular product is suitable for every individual or project.
Products should be used according to applicable manufacturer instructions.
If Scribbler Designs receives compensation or another material benefit from an affiliate or sponsored relationship, applicable disclosures should be provided as required by law.
15. Testimonials
Testimonials and reviews appearing on the Website reflect the experiences and opinions of the individuals who provided them.
